Curreri bus Rome to Sorrento

My husband and I will be traveling from Rome to Sorrento on August 4. We are considering the Curreri bus. I have sent them an e-mail asking for a reservation, but have not gotten a reply. Do you know if reservations are necessary, or can we just show up at the train station and be able to catch the bus to Sorrento? We'll be in Rome for a couple days before going to Sorrento. Should we have our hotel call them? Or just take the train? Thanks for any advice. Gail

Buying the bus ticket locally in Rome two or three days beforehand should be sufficient. Your hotel can call the bus operator after you check in.

The train (with a connection at Napoli Centrale to the Circumvesuviana commuter rail) is always an easy and convenient fallback: plenty of service without a need to reserve in advance.

Some travellers prefer to avoid the connection in Naples to the Circumvesuviana, which makes the Curreri or the Marozzi bus particularly convenient. The bus also costs less.
