What amount of money is needed for Tolls. And which currency when travelling from Venice to Lake Como. Is the Milan Malpensa Airport a nightmare to navigate dropping off a hire car??

I can't tell you how much you'll need for tolls but the currency you'll need will be euros. You can get them at any ATM with a debit card. Donna

You can calculate the tolls for your trip on viamichelin.com. As an example, Venice to Bellagio is 18.10 euros. Returning rental cars at Malpensa is easy.

Thank you might look for a highway that doesnt use tolls. Will keep michelin site in mind for directions to airport thanx

Liz, Driving in Italy is my favorite thing in the world to do! We have been 3 times to Italy and always rent a car. What works for us is to have a debit card handy and proceed to the lane with a big Card sign. It is quick and the conversion rate is the best. You don't want to be in the lane that takes cash-you don't know the exact amount until you insert your ticket. Using a card is one less thing to worry about.
