curling wand and Italy

Okay, so this is pretty last minute, but my husband and I are going to Italy tomorrow, and I very much want to take my curling wand with me. It's a TIGI Bed Head Rock n' Roller curling wand, and I love it. I don't NEED it, but it would take up practically no space in my bag, and I would love to have it with me for a fancy night out or three. I have been scouring the Interwebs, and I can't figure out what the exact voltage is of this product, nor can I figure out whether or not it would work at all in Italy anyway. Anyone have any ideas for me? We have some adapters, but no voltage converters. How can I find this out?

Italy uses AC230V-50Hz (used to be 220v)
US uses AC120V-60Hz

Check your plug to see if yours is a multi voltage device. It should say AC100-240V 50-60Hz.
If not, then leave it at home or it will explode in your hands and your head will look like the Olympic torch.

My experience with US appliances like this is, it's going to get really hot, and you risk ruining it by using it, with a plug adapter.

I have traveled with a flat iron, and won't do that anymore. I just had a cheap one I bought at Target, but it wasn't worth the room in my bag, or the risk of using it on my hair.

It will probably work with the plug adapter, but as I mentioned, be ready for it to get really hot, and it will make noises as you use it because of the difference in voltage.

Don't look on the Interwebs for that information. Don't look on the plug unless it has a detachable charger.

Look on the back of the thing and there will be a small plate or perhaps sometimes nearly invisible writing which will have some numbers and letters. You want to not see 115V 60Hz. You want to see 110-240V 50-60Hz. If you don't see that leave it at home and have a short Italian shopping trip for a wand souvenir.

If it's not dual voltage leave it at home. I would leave it home anyway and just buy one when you get there. They are inexpensive and you won't need to worry about plugs or adapters.

Treat yourself to a hair stylist if you have time. Buy the curling iron there if you need one. Setting the hotel on fire is not a good idea.
