This is more of a post for everyone, than a question. In case you didn't know, April 14-22nd is Cultural Week in Italy. All state run museums will be FREE! That means the Collosseum, the Forum, the Uffizi, the Accademia! Check it on roninrome.com Now of course comes the HUGE decision, do ya stand in line for the FREE ticket, or pay to get in without the wait!
I don't believe you can pay to get in without the wait. Maybe if you book a tour but free means free. In Rome they give you a ticket but you don't pay for it. It may be different in other cities but I'm not sure. donna
Hi Donna, good points. I think I'll check out the roninrome website and see about the tours. Aren't you heading over there soon too? What are you going to pack because I think we are in Rome about the same time. Thanks, Mary
Mary, I think you have me confused with Donna from Roswell. I don't travel to Italy during the summer. I just got back a couple of weeks ago and miss it terribly. Cant wait until the fall when I can get back. As for what to wear, be sure to take a sweater as the nights can be chilly. Also take a scarf or something to put over your shoulders if you'll be wearing anything sleeveless. You don't want to be denied entry into churches. Don't pack items that can "only be worth with" one other thing. This way you won't have to pack as much but can mix and match your wardrobe to make new outfits. Donna
I'm so sorry! Yes, I must have you two confused. :-) Well, thank you for the wonderful advice. Mary
