CT to Rome

We are spending 3 nights in CT and then 3 nights in Sienna then on to Rome for a cruise. Does anyone have any suggested itineraries from CT to Sienna. We will have a car. We plan on going to Lucca and San Gimignano, any other ideas....... Thanks
