On cruise to Livorno. What are things to do
Not much in Livorno. Go to Pisa to see the tower, and then on to Florence to see David at the Accademia, and the Uffizi if you like art. Or go to Lucca and walk the walled city. This is one port you really might consider getting with a private driver because distances are so great. Have you gotten on a roll call of your cruise over at CruiseCritic.com yet? I strongly suggest you do. You will get tons of advice for each of your ports and can join private tours if you want to save a lot of money over the cruise excursions. I did this last year and ended up organizing or joining several different groups of people on private tours through Romeinlimo. We saw so much more at each port than the cruise tours and never had to hassle with public transportation or worry about making it back to the ship.
Victor, cruisecritic.com is a good site for information on cruise ports in the Mediterranean or elsewhere. Try it.
