I am planning a holiday involving a visit in sorrento for 10 days ( flying in to Naples, and taking transportation to sorrento - Not sure best way to get to sorrento) and then heading up to covitecchia to catch a transatlantic cruise - the cruise leaves on oct. 14 at 5 pm.
What is the best way to get to the cruise port from sorrento and will there be sufficient time to do so on the 14 th?

Easiest way to get from the airport in Naples to Sorrento is by airport bus. The name of the cruise port is Civitavecchia. It’s about a 4 hour trip from Sorrento. You would take the Circumvesuviana train to Naples and then by train go to the Termini station in Rome where you would change trains to go to Civitavecchia. Then a cab to the ship.
