We were in Rome earlier this year, but are now planning an Eastern Mediterranean cruise in November. We will be docked in civitavecchia for 12 hours. We are considering Viterbo or Ostia antica, but both would be around 2 hours train ride each direction. Is there a bus to Viterbo from Civitavecchia? We are on a tight biudget so can't afford renting a car or a driver or booking a tour.
If we can't find a cheap way to do anything else, I guess we'll be walking the streets of Rome again - not such a bad prospect! We're just checking to see if there are any low cost opportunities nearby.
