I just realized that the train from Salerno to Pompei is out of service for the rest of the month. My family of 4 has a 10AM tour booked for Pompeii and are traveling from Salerno. The train is operating a special bus service during this time, but I'm worried about overcrowding. I prebooked tickets but it sounds like this doesn't guarantee us seats on the bus? I hate to spend 100e on a taxi but is that the best option to make sure we don't miss our tour? Should we risk the bus and if so how far in advance do we need to line up?
