Hello, My grandmother wants me to ask - do people wear crocs in Italy? I'm assuming she doesn't want to look like a tourist... Thanks!
Meghan
I just returned from Italy and I didn't see crocs.
Thanks! :)
I don't even see them in the US very much any more and did not see any in Italy. Also, they won't be the most comfortable shoes to walk around in. I would look into Merrills or something similar and look for style+comfort, not bright colored plastic shoes :)
Devon, real Crocs are incredibly comfortable. Imitation Crocs, no. But I personally wouldn't wear them in Europe although in some countries I've seen a lot of people wearing them, Belgium (saw a Crocs store in Bruges), Germany and the Netherlands. On the other hand, if your grandmother has problems with her feet, and Crocs are the most comfortable for her, then I say wear them. No one will care. They come in dark blue and black, not just the bright colors.
Crocs come in many styles including sneakers, ballet flats and Mary Janes, not just the Clog style. I agree that if your grandmother finds walking in Croc shoes comfortable she should go ahead. PS - they are sold in Italy. http://www.crocsitalia.it/nuovi-arrivi/women-new,it_IT,sc.html
And once again, no one in Italy cares what you wear. If it's a "not looking like a tourist" issue, please urge her not to worry about that. If Crocs are comfortable for walking, that's the most important thing. She'll be walking and standing a lot.
