We are planning to take our 12 and 15 year old boys to the Rome Crime Museum, but is there a "better" one in Florence or in the Tuscany area? I've heard there is also one in San Gimignano. Any info?
My suggestion: drop hubby and sons off at the torture museum in Siena - and go shoe shopping yourself! It's very centrally located just off the Campo.
However, this one has almost all their exhibits with explanations in Italian only. Very little in English. Don't know if the ones in other towns offer more English.
Is anyone aware of a crime or punishment museum that has information in English? Any ones that you would recommend?
Cindy, We walked past a torture museum in Volterra. Very grisly instruments in the doorway. Don't know if English is offered. There is a guide in Volterra, Anne is her first name, can't remember her last name but I believe she is recommended in RS Italy book. Maybe others on this post can give you her name and you could email her and ask. Volterra is a great hilltown to visit. Good luck with your search. Sherry
