I traveled to Europe (Spain, UK, France,& Netherlands) in 2011 and was able to use my US magnetic credit card and ATM card without being rejected. Since it has been a few years, I was wondering if more folks are having rejection issues in Italy (I'll be traveling there in October- Rome, Naples, Venice, Florence, Cinque Terre) with using magnetic strip credit and ATM cards. I know chip with signature cards are being pushed out by major card carriers now, but that doesn't seem to be the same as what Europeans use which is chip with PIN technology. So any recent experience in Italy using magnetic strips and/or chip with signature cards would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
