Craft Beer in Rome? Brewery Tour?

Hi! We'll be in Rome the first week of May. My partner is a HUGE craft beer aficionado and I would LOVE to find a great craft brewery or pub with a great selection of local craft beer to try while we are in Rome? Has anyone got suggestions? Thank you in advance!

You are in for a treat because Italian beer has grown leaps and bounds over the last decade. My husband is a home brewer and Italian beer is actually my favorite. Look at the writings of Katie Parla--she knows Rome trends and has written about beer.

She does tours as well, but you can just make your own if you know the spots.

For such a specialized thing, I'd go straight to google, as you are likely to more quickly get results. The Slow Food app has a beer version, and there is a ton of info out there.

Check out Birra Baladin (link below, English side of the site). A Piedmont-based brewery with an outlet in Rome not far from Campo dei Fiori.

We ate at one of their Turin outlets tonight; they must have had 30 or 40 beers on tap.

Open Baladin is a fantastic craft beer pub in Rome. They don't brew onsite but always have a large selection of beers brewed at their production facility up north in Piozzo. Their beer menu groups and describes each beer they brew, although only 20-25 may be on-tap on any given day. The pub is extremely busy in the evening (you may have to wait to get in), but you can usually walk right in at lunch hour or in the afternoon. Imo Birra Baladin makes the best craft beer in Italy, so you definitely want to try their Rome pub. Open Baladin is located on Via degli Specchi, a short walk from Largo Argentina or Campo de' Fiori.
