Are you required to have testing done at the airport? What is the cost?
No, you have a different options. There are pharmacies and self administered from your hotel room tests that some airlines offer that you can take e.g. https://thepointsguy.com/news/at-home-covid-testing-travel/. When I was in Italy last summer the Red Cross had free covid tests in a tent outside of the main train stations in Rome and Florence. The lines were long of course. Which city are you flying from? I paid 35 euros for a test to fly from Florence last August.
A friend just returned from Italy and said the ubiquitous pharmacies offer Covid tests. Even in tiny Amalfi town the local pharmacy was doing
Covid tests for €20
I will be flying out of Rome.
Try a pharmacy in Rome.
I just had my first Covid test ever in Naples the day before yesterday and it was quick, easy, and 22 euros. No reservation required. There are pharmacies everywhere that provide the testing which needs to be done the day before you depart for home.
Good to know. Thanks.
