I think I have a good trip planned here, thanks in part to the wonderful suggestions/advice on this forum.
One major outstanding item is I am not sure where/how to get Covid tested in Vencie prior to our return in October. Suggestions? Advice?

Your hotel (or your lodging host if AirBnB) should easily be able to direct you to a nearby pharmacy.
We did it at the train station. It was august and long lines. We got there at 7 am for 8 am opening and were out by 8:45 am. I am sure it would not be as busy in October.
Our air Bnb management company gave us a list of places to get tested but all 80 to 100 euros. I wasn’t that impressed with them in general so I suspect there were other options.
When we were there the queue at the train station was two hours long and the pharmacies wanted 24 hours. All of the Marriott properties (Gritti Palace, Danieli, etc) have a nurse that comes every day for testing. The results come back in a couple of hours. Well worth the €65.
