I wanted to share this information since I couldn't find it on the AA website. Unlike Delta, AA does not add a note to the flight to let you know which ones are Covid tested flights.
I called AA to get the flight numbers for the Covid tested flights:
JFK to Milan Flight 195
JFK to Rome Flight 236
Dallas to Rome Flight 260

Edit: are you sure it’s flight 260 and not 240 from DFW? 260 goes to CLE.

I'm wondering if there are specific flight numbers for United? I asked when booking if it would be a Covid connection since I'm coming from the midwest, but they said the flight from EWR was a covid test flight into FCO. How can I double-check?
I've also searched related articles and haven't found flight numbers.

Momof3 I believe that it will be moot because Italy is adopting the green pass- which means vaccinated people, those with a negative Covid test and those that can prove antibodies after recovering from Covid can arrive on any flight without quarantine. It’s supposed to go into effect in the coming weeks.
Momof3 - United flight 40 from EWR to JFK is covid tested. Their website is confusing. It doesn't say which flights are covid tested but this page on their website says "United’s flights from New York/Newark to Milan and Rome are COVID-tested flights."

I booked UA Flight 40 today. Because the website wasn't clear, I called their customer service first and the rep was clueless so I reached out to them via private message on twitter. They confirmed that it is a covid tested flight so I booked. After I booked, I checked the "travel ready center" on their website and it says "United’s flights from Newark to Rome are COVID-tested flights." and then says that I will have to take a covid test 48 hours before the flight and one upon arrival.
Hopefully, it's a moot point and Italy opens up with just confirmation of having been vaccinated. If not, it is a covid tested flight.

I also booked United Flight 40 from Newark to Rome. My first flight is from Indianapolis to Newark, then Newark to Rome. I'm a little confused/worried because I saw somewhere that the flight must "originate" in Newark to be a Covid tested flight, and I'm starting out in Indianapolis. Do you know if starting in Indianapolis would somehow void out my ability to take this Covid tested flight UA40 to Rome. I sure don't want to have to quarantine - especially since I've been vaccinated. Can anyone weigh in on that?

I do not think it matters since it looks like Covid-tested flights are going away. The Italian government is changing entry rules again and you now will be able to avoid quarantine if you show proof of being vaccinated or a negative covid test prior to boarding your flight. United has not updated their website yet but Delta's has been updated to show the new rules.

Saw a deal on business class round trip flights from Miami to Rome in September for $4k total for both my wife and I... snapped them up, but now I just discovered this isn't a Covid-Tested Flight and we will be subject to a 10-day quarantine upon arrival - regardless of negative test / vaccination record...
Changing to NYC or Atlanta would mean having to pay $6k each for new flights, wayyyy out of budget!
Anyone have any idea if the 'Covid-Tested Flight' protocol will expand to include more airports such as Miami?

We leave from Milan this Friday, June 25, 2021 on American Airlines. Covid rapid test is still required. Anyone know where to get the test, especially in the downtown covered streets? I’m thinking most pharmacies, but do any of you know for sure? Thanks!
Joni, we have the same issue—flying an AA Covid-tested flight this Sat, June 26 JFK-Rome. The Italy site specifically says testing isn’t required, but AA still hasn’t updated their website mandating the pretest, and the hours I’ve spent thru the AA chat/phone options have been fruitless in getting clarification. If Delta can update their policy, why can’t AA? Argh. If anyone has insight, please share! Thanks!
