Covid test for italy

I am going to italy next Saturday and purchased an Ellume antigen test with Azova medical proctoring. I used this for entry into Iceland in August on Delta with no problem. However, I saw in another forum that a traveler to Italy was told that the Bionax test was not eligible for entry to Italy. I can't find information either way except Ellume is FDA approved and is an antigen test. Italy allows PCR or antigen tests. Has anyone had experience with using a home proctored test to go to Italy?

Italy has a pretty broad statement as to what qualifies as an acceptable test. They have delegated verification and acceptance of testing to the airlines. The issue with Bionax that I saw was that one of the airlines was not accepting that test, apparently they felt it did not meet the requirements as communicated by Italy.

I would verify with your airline what tests are acceptable, or more likely, if they exclude any tests. If they accept your test, your good.

Thanks for the tip. I called United and after the customer service person checking with the travel desk, I was told that Ellume antigen test was not accepted by United. No reason was given. I could not get a direct number to their travel desk. We are not going to risk it and have scheduled a PCR test. The results should get to us about the time we reach our airport. We hate that we have to cut it so close, but there is no rapid PCR test in our area, only 48 hour results.
