covid test experience in Milan

Hi all, Just some recent experience to share regarding Covid testing. First, I purchased the wrong self-test kit. I got the Abbott Binax now and thought I was all set because on the box it showed the Navica app link. Apparently, there are two uses (and kits) for the Navica app. The one I got did not have the proctoring piece, just the ability to upload results to your physician. We ended up having to go to a 24-hour pharmacy in Milan and were able to get quick, friendly service. We did use the kits I had brought in order to get a "preview" of our results. The second point I wanted to share was that NO ONE asked us for our results!! We flew Aer Lingus Milan to Dublin to Boston. The woman at the counter in Milan merely asked if we had gotten tested but did not ask to see the results. We thought perhaps we'd be asked for them in Dublin, as it is the US that is requiring testing to re-enter, but we were not asked to show the results then, either. I was quite surprised and a little annoyed that we went through the time and expense to get the testing done, and did not have to produce results. Has anyone else experienced this?
(I am fortunate to say that this was the only hiccup in a wonderful two-week trip to Italy and we cannot wait to return!!)

Caron, it's good to hear your experience.

I recently flew out of Amsterdam and the person at the KLM check in desk did ask to see the test results. When I flew home in October from Paris the Delta check in agent also asked to see the results. (edited to correct my faulty memory, lol!!)

Certainly no one on the US side - Border Control/Customs, no one.

So happy you enjoyed yourselves! It felt great to be back in travel mode again, didn't it?

And sorry you got the wrong Binax test kit but glad you tested ahead. I wound up testing a bunch because of allergies and known covid exposure.
