Has anyone done their required covid test (for return to the USA) at the Rome airport? I was just wondering if it would just be more convenient, especially if pharmacies are busy with covid tests and it may be difficult to get an appointment.
I guess I would hate to wait until I was flying out to test, of course that was in the days where you could test 3 days before return.
I would just keep an eye on the Pharmacies the last couple days there. No appointment was necessary when I was there, just walk up. There were many options, three places within a couple blocks of my hotel, so there was never much of a line, and it moves quick.
If for some reason lines are very long everywhere, then I might consider the airport, as long as I had plenty of time before departure, would not want to try to make an early flight and have to test; testing is before check-in.
Thanks Paul, I'm glad to hear that the pharmacies are not overwhelmed. I tend to agree with you that I'd rather have it in hand when I go to the airport.
Hello,
You won’t have any problems finding a pharmacy. We made our appointment the day before our needed test. They provided testing between 9am-1pm. We showed up early and were accommodated with no problem. The one thing I do recommend is returning for the print out. We were told we would receive an email within 20 min with our result or could stop by for a print out. We returned within the 20 min which was a good thing bc we never received an email.
Happy travels
Amanda
Yeah, I do not recall getting an email either, we just waited the 20 minutes or so for the printout.
Thank you Amanda, good info.
