Covid requirements for Canadian entering Italy

I find it unclear what I need for a flight and stay to Italy in mid May. We are Canadian, fully vaccinated and boosted and have our government scan to verify that. Is that enough? I know on the way home we fill out ArriveCAN and testing is no longer required, but whenever I look up what’s required to get in it seems it directs me to the EU or UK passports you can get, neither of which we are eligible for. Thanks for your help!

From what I can tell, all you need is your vaccination certificate. https://www.salute.gov.it/portale/nuovocoronavirus/dettaglioNotizieNuovoCoronavirus.jsp?lingua=english&menu=notizie&p=dalministero&id=5815

Note that this says "until April 30," so you'd best keep your eye out in case it changes in the next couple of days. I very much doubt that the rules will become stricter at this point, though.

When I travelled to Italy in November, our provincial proof of vaccination was accepted everywhere. At that point, Alberta did not yet have a QR code that was compatible with the federal/European one, but we still did not have a problem. One guy even pretended to scan it and then waved us through. LOL. You should be fine with your scan. If it were me, I would print out the card as a backup, just in case, but that would be just a precaution and not a necessity.

It looks like I’m good. We have printed off the government QR code as well as on our phones. I figured we’d be fine but you just hate to get there and have any issues!

I have heard that our Canadian QR code does not always work in Europe.

I'm going to Italy this year, and am going to bring my original vax cards and the ones you can print from gov.ca as well.
I also will have photos of the originals on my phone in case the actual cards get lost or mislaid.
