Covid Green Pass help?

I realize things seem to be changing often. Does anyone know how to obtain the Green pass? I filled out the Passenger locator form already. Will I need some green QR code or is it literally I just need to present my vaccination card?

Present on arrival a COVID-19 Green Pass issued by the Health Authorities their home country, certifying:

complete vaccination against COVID-19 performed at least 14 days beforehand
recovery from COVID-19 and the termination of medical isolation
negative result for a rapid molecular or antigenic test performed in the 48 hours prior to entry into Italy
Green Passes must be in Italian, English, French or Spanish and can be presented in digital or printed formats.

The COVID-19 Green Pass is also mandatory for movements from and to regions that may be classified in "red" or "orange" zones (more details herein below) and may also be requested for attendance at public events (such as trade fairs, concerts, sports competitions and parties following religious or civil ceremonies).

Assuming you are American- you only need your CDC vax card (the original not a photocopy) to enter Italy and avoid quarantine
(Or negative test or proof of recovery as listed)

Green Pass is for EU citizens and hasn’t really even been sorted out for them at this point

COVID-19 TRAVEL GUIDANCE FOR ENTRY TO ITALY FROM ABROAD

Italian Covid-related travel guidance features lists of Countries from which entry to Italy is subject to different restrictions, as specified below:

Canada, Japan and the United States: passengers travelling to Italy from these countries are required to notify their arrival to the Prevention Department of their local health authority, compile the digital passenger locator form and present a Covid-19 green pass issued by the competent local health authorities and considered of equivalent value (vaccination with vaccines authorised by EMA; recovery from Covid-19 and completion of self-isolation requirements; negative rapid or molecular test results).

The process for obtaining a Green Pass is not specified in any of the many searches I have made this morning 10 July 2021, but I will continue searching.

Later this month, my son will be entering Italy via Naples, and I hope to find more information before he departs.

As posted above
A CDC Vaccination card serves as your Green Pass “equivalent value”

You likely will not find what you are searching for regarding US citizen acquiring a Green Pass
