July 2021 France to Italy COVID entry requirements for American citizens?

We are Americans wanting to fly from Paris to Venice July 19, 2021.
Does anyone know if the American white CDC vaccination card is accepted in Italy and if any further testing is required?

How much time you will have spent in France may be signficant.

Don't rely on traveler opinions in this realm of constant change. It may not matter that you are American, but just the flight's departure point and from Paris that means a EU Digital Certificate. This is the current Italian Health Ministry website: https://www.salute.gov.it/portale/nuovocoronavirus/dettaglioContenutiNuovoCoronavirus.jsp?lingua=english&id=5412&area=nuovoCoronavirus&menu=vuoto
Note it has links which may provide details about exceptions, if any.

Perhaps contact the airline and ask what 'document(s)' ( other than your ticket & passport) you will need to be allowed to board?

From what I understand, France and Italy are considered green countries and you can travel between green countries as long as you show proof of vaccination. Only thing US citizens have is a CDC card and those will be honored and allowed where I have read. If you are not vaccinated you need a PCR or antigen test. Myself and my wife are going from Italy to France in October. So we are keeping a close eye on things as well on requirements. US won’t have a vaccine passport any time in the near future cause no one can agree on anything.

We flew from Nice to Rome on July 13, 2021. The Air France flight from Nice to Paris required our CDC vaccine card (exactly the same as when we flew from San Francisco to Paris July 6). We changed planes at CDG (Paris) terminal 2F. When boarding the connection also an Air France flight from Paris to Rome we were asked at the gate as we were scanning our boarding pass for vaccination card (we showed our CDC card) then we were asked to show our covid test results. This really surprised me because it was not mentioned in Nice when we checked our bags through to Rome. Because we had accreditation to attend the Festival du Cannes we were required to get a covid test in Cannes at the Festival’s site before getting our official badges. Sidebar - This delayed our participation in the Festival a few days, but it got us on the flight to Rome. The test results were uploaded officially (not by us) to the SI-DEP (France’s national Covid-19 screening platform) by whomever produced the results. When you access your Covid test results in the downloaded SI-DEP app there is a QR code that appears. The gate agent looked at it but did not scan it. Then told us to board. I thought this was really strange because it was not what was officially stated on anything we could find. We had searched online info so that we could be prepared.

Tomorrow July 19, 2021 we fly from Rome to Marseille non-stop on Alitalia. Our train arrives at FCO (Rome airport) in time to get a Covid test if required. I guess all I can say about Italy to France is stay tuned…

Phillip, thank you for the information. Are you saying that when we arrive in France, we should take our CDC vaccination card to a pharmacy and ask them to convert it to a green EU card?

I'm afraid that philip5145 copied and pasted a street address in Venice instead of the app name....
