Hi All, we are 4 friends age 30 - 35. We will base ourselves in Chamonix for 5 nights (21 April - 26 April) and would like to do a day trip to Courmayeur and perhaps Aosta by bus. Any suggestions or recommendations for a day trip. There is nothing in RS book on Courmayeur. I know with the Mont Blanc 3 day pass you can visit the Skyway in Courmayeur.

The reason there is nothing in the RS book on Courmayeur is that Courmayeur is not all that interesting. It's mostly a place to transfer from the Chamonix/Mont Blanc bus to other buses. Aosta, on the other hand, is an interesting place, chocked full of Roman ruins. It was one of the northernmost garrisons of the Empire and there is a small amphitheater and other sights to enjoy. Take the Chamonix/Mont Blanc bus, change at Courmayeur for the Aosta bus. Make sure you check the schedules. Chamonix has a great TI for maps, etc.
