Cost of transportation from Venice aeroporto to Hotel

We have been quoted USD $101.00 for 2 of us to go from Venice aeroporto to our hotel, the Bauer. Do you think that is reasonable?

That sounds like the price for a private water taxi. If you want much cheaper, you could take a bus to the Piazzale Roma and a vaporetto (water bus) from there. Between the two is the public Alilaguna that could get you close to the Bauer.

Do you have any mobility issues or tons of luggage? If not, then do the bus and the vaporetto as the previous poster mentioned. Happy travels.

I agree with Doug and Michael. Go to VeniceConnected web-site and see how much less it will cost you ride the Vaporreto in Venice. Sooner or later you will have to ride it. Then on top of that your going to spend $100.00 to ride to the Bauer. If this is just a trip to Venice, the bus to Piazza Roma and Vaporreto #1 to Giglio or Salute and walk to the hotel is the way to go. If it's an anniversary or some special occasion, well I'd spend the money. The water taxi sounds more romantic than what it really is, specially if it's raining or foggy and you can't even see the city as you're approaching it. Those crowded Vaporreto's are awesome to see that beautiful city unfold before your eyes.

You can't find anywhere much more central than the Bauer. If you are pushing the boat out to stay at the Bauer I would say go the whole hog and do the water taxi thing - I never have done but it really looks like fun. When you do use the Vaporetto there is a route which practically stops at the door of the Bauer.

If that is a private water taxi for just the two of arranged by the bauer, then the price is lower than the normal price of about USD 170. If that is a shared taxi with more than just you two, then the price is a bit higher than the normal 75USD for that service. However if the taxi is only going to the Bauer, then the extra cost might be worth it since the normal shared ride goes to different hotels.
