Cost of parking in garage in Riomaggoire Cinque Terre

Does anyone know the cost oof parking in the garage in Riomaggoire in Cinque Terre? I have did quite a search and have not been able to find the cost. My husband and I are trying to decide if it is worth keeping our rental car while in Riomaggoire for 3 days in order to possibly use it to explore Liguria on our last day before flying out of Pisa versus returning the car prior to going to Cinque Terre and then using the train. However, this would also limit us on our last day in Italy. But everything that I read says it is better to use the trains there. Thanks for all of your help.

There is a 5-story parking lot just as you approach the town. I haven't used this lot but the last I read, the daily cost was 20E in 2007. Plus, the lot closes at 7pm. There is a free lot about 1km from the town. The free lot has 10 spaces. As you might expect, these spaces are hard to get. Last, some hotels will rent space to their guests for 10E/day. Locanda del Sole is one of these hotels. Also, outside of the parking lots, tourist cars are not permitted in any of the 5 towns.

Sara, My suggestion would be to return the car prior to going to Riomaggiore, as it will be much easier and will save you three days of rental plus the cost of parking. I assume you're referring to Santa Margherita Ligure for your last day in Italy? As I recall, that's accessible by train also, so a car wouldn't really be much of an advantage. As you'll be driving in Italy, be sure to have an IDP and try to avoid the ZTL's if you'll be driving in cities (especially Florence!). Happy travels!

I agree with the previous posters who advised you to give up the car before you go to the CT. It's not clear from your question whether your last night will be in the CT and that you will fly from Pisa the next day. If that's the case, you might want to use your middle CT day to take the train up to Santa Margarita and explore there and in neighboring Portofino . Then, on your last CT day, ask your landlord to hold your bags so you can explore more of the CT, then catch your train for Pisa. We did this a few years ago.

Our last day is actually in Cinque Terre. Having our landlord hold our luggage may be an option that I have not thought about. Also, scratch the rolling luggage... Just measured them and found that they will not meet Ryan Airs carry on requirements. We may be just carrying small backpacks for 12 days. If we had to, that would make carrying these more easier. thanks for all of your help.

Thanks Larry and Ken...actually, I was thinking of traveling more inland into Liguria with no particular destination in mind, but just to see more of that area of italy. But, seeing Santa Margherita Ligure that last day might also be interesting as well, however by then, we would have our luggage in tow with us unless we could find a place to stow it. The same would be if we wanted to see Lucca the last day. Certainly doable by train, but again we would have our luggage and I understand that there is no place at the train station in Lucca to leave luggage. Does anyone have any ideas as to what to do with luggage which will be just a single carry on size with good wheels for both of us.

I want to say the garage in Riomaggiore was 20/25 euro a day to park. Ask your hotel if they have spaces. It'll probably still cost you bet less. We payed 10 euro a day. There's also a large lot in Monterosso but I'm not sure how much that was.

There's actually two lots in Monterosso. The one in the "old" town (where the train station is) is an outdoor lot on the water, costs about 10 euro a day. The lot on the other side is an actual covered garage, costs 15 euro a day. We always use the outdoor lot as it's cheaper and provides easier access to the train station.
