I just went to ticketeria.it to make reservation for the Borghese and was amazed at the costs quoted. The museum price was the same as Rick says - 8.50 euros but the reservation fee is 7.50 and another "online booking fee" of 7.90. I did not book yet because I would like to know if anyone else has reserved lately. I may try the phone reservation but the overseas phone call might cost as much or more. Any comments or advice appreciated.

ticketone is the official site for booking the Borghese gallery. http://www.tosc.it/tickets.html The tickets are 13 euros with a 2 euros service fee. Donna
If you are staying in a hotel, ask them to make a reservation in advance for you. Tell them when you'd like to go. They will get a confirmation number for you which you present at the ticket counter on arrival. Hence no "processing fee."
I just purchased tickets yesterday with ticket tone. I paid 48.00 for three tickets. Fees were 4.50 which I got charged twice and the actual tickets were 39.00. I got the time I wanted.
If you do order them online, check the order form carefully. Somehow mine ended up with the wrong date on them. Not sure I can do anything about it now.
Thanks for the input. Sounds like the prices are not consistent. Ithink I'll try my hotel - if they don't add any fees!!

I told my hotel what time we wanted and they called and reserved it for us at no charge. The entrance to the Borghese is free with the Roma Pass and it is one of our favorite museumsdon't miss it. Roma Pass is good on all metro and buses for eg for going out to the Appian Way, but is fantastic for walking past the long ticket buying lines straight into the Colosseum. http://www.romapass.it/p.aspx?l=en&tid=10&hi=borghese

The borghese gallery is only free with the romapass if it's one of the first two sites visited. If its not one of the first two sites visited using the pass then it's at the reduced rate. Donna
"Sounds like the prices are not consistent" The issue isn't "consistency." It's that there is an official site, and then there are resellers. Resellers charge more than the official site, so always use the official one whenever possible. The resellers tout their convenience over the official site. Sometimes this is true, but most of the time, it's just as easy to use the official site with its lower fees. This same principle applies to trains (don't use Rail Europe, but the operator of the train like Italo or Trenitalia), theater tickets (in the US too - use Ticketmaster, not Broadway dot com), etc.
