Has anyone been to Cosenza by train? I am trying to find out how many train stations there are and which one has trains for Paola, a connecting city for Rome. Trenitalia does not specify.
Thank you for the reply. I've been on Trenitalia, like I said yesterday, but they don't show the name of the train station that my train departs from. It just says Cosenza. I was hoping someone would know which station Cosenza stands for since there is more than one. My train goes to Paola and then from there the Frecciargento high speed train goes on to Rome. If anyone out there knows, please let me know. Thanks!
I have been to Calabria many times, but have only driven through Cosenza. I went to trenitalia.it and found this info:
http://www.lefrecce.it/B2CWeb/searchExternal.do?parameter=initBaseSearch Follow the above link. On the trenitalia.it home page I found 2 stations list for Cosenza. The link above has a centro (central) destination. You will see that Paola is a stop before Cosenza. I have been in Paola once but only visited the cathedral. Buon viaggio,
Katherine, if the train station name isn't fully specified, it's the Centrale station in most cases.
That's true. I guess I should be more specific. I've been traveling in Europe by train every year since 1983 and have traveled extensively in Italy on at least 11 occassions. I only ask for help when the information is not forthcoming through the normal means. This one is suspect because when I specify Stazione Centro Trenitalia shows a train change at Cosenza. How wierd is that? That makes me believe that the central staion is not the correct one but I can't be sure.
