My family of four is planning a trip to Italy next April. We are looking for an apartment in Cortona to stay for a week. We want to be in town or close enough to walk to town, but would like to avoid the main street where it might be noisy. Any suggestions of apartments or areas of the town to stay or to avoid?

My wife and I will be staying in an apartment in Cortona in less than 3 weeks. I cannot give you a review of this place until late June. However, we have friends who have stayed at this place 5 times and absolutely love it! The apartment is located very close to Piazza Garibaldi which means that it is an easy walk to the town center.

Two years ago I stayed in a B&B called "Le Gelosie" in Cortona. The owner also has several apartments in town. The owner was very helpful and if the apartments are anything like the B&B, they would probably be a good bet. The website is legelosie.com.

I read one description of the place you are staying that said it is right where the buses drop people off. That could be very convenient and could be very noisy. Did you friends say anything about that? Thanks!

I rented a wonderful apartment in central Cortona through www.vrbo.com #40117. The owner is located in the US and was easy to deal with. # 202332 also looks good. Search this site to find many others.

My friends own/rent a wonderful apartment in Cortona. Check out their website www.casasanmarco.com. Not only is it a wonderful place but they are great, trustworthy people. What you see is what you're really going to get.
