Hi everyone,
We will be in Cortina for two weeks April 2025 attending the World Junior Curling Championships. While watching the curling and cheering on the athletes is our primary focus, we will have half days and a few full days to explore. We will have rental cars. It looks like we're going to be there during "shoulder season" for the town: not winter, but not yet summer. I'm looking for your suggestions: using Cortina as a base, what would you do for a half day or a full day? Thanks in advance!
Thank you for your reply! Our dates are April 10-22.
If you’re looking to explore nearby areas, I highly recommend visiting Val Fiscalina, which is relatively short drive from Cortina: https://throneandvine.com/val-fiscalina-fischleintal/. The valley offers breathtaking views of the Dolomites and is easily accessible by foot in April. You could make it a half or full-day adventure depending on where you begin the hike.
Thanks so much. That looks just beautiful! Will add it to my list.
Anyone interested in curling should definitely stop to see the iceman Otzi in the Museum of Archaeology when you pass near Bolzano. Definitely one of the most memorable balding middle-aged guys you'll ever meet.
