Well we are still struggling trying to find a nice place to stay the first weekend in October, in the CT. Right now I have possibles in these villages. can anyone offer any suggestions on which would be our best bet for the Cinque Terre. Note: Volastra is apparently a small village directly behine Manarola. Ciao

Out of the 3, Monterosso, but if there was something in Manarola, i would rather stay there.

Volastra is not one of the Cinque Terre 5 Villages. Just so you know.

Monterosso. I didn't go to any of the other towns in the area (besides the 5)but know that they are a bit more of a hassle getting to.

Of the 3, I would pick Monterosso. It has the most convenient transportation connections and the best selection of restaurants.
