Coopculture Ticket Purchase Forces Italian Citizen

Help Please! I found tickets I need on Coopculture this morning for Colosseum Full Experience, using the English Didactic for Individuals option. When I went to checkout it required me to select a radio button of citizenship. The options are Italian, European and non-European. I properly selected the non-European citizenship option. But as I continued through the checkout process it switched it back to Italian citizen.....it won't give me any other option, and everything is in Italian (not a problem, just further implies everything is expected to be in Italian including my passport!).

Is this a known bug and I am okay to proceed with the tickets I purchased? Will my tour be in English???

No idea; you might try emailing them. I've read that they're pretty responsive, although as the ticketing system is supposed to change as soon as tomorrow, no idea how quickly they'll respond. As well, no idea if your tickets will still be available as they can disappear in minutes. Good luck!

Maybe the price category you selected is only for Italians?

Thank you Kathy, I will email them. I assume their people only speak in Italian and I speak English. So for ease, I will email. I did buy the tickets. I mean you know, I could not help myself. Hope it works. When in Rome? HAHA!

Do you know are these the 'skip the line' you see everyone talk about? Any idea how big my tour group will be? I see Get your Guide and Roman Guy have tours that say they skip the line and are small group, but everyone seems to say they are third party and yes the prices are much higher. Plus I have seen they sometimes cancel on people because they were unable to actually purchase tickets, thus why everyone says buy direct. I am so sorry for all the questions, and greatly appreciate your help!

Note, I was unable to get tickets at 3am this morning and by 3:45am i was blocked from the site as my many refreshes it seemed to think i was a bot. I went back to bed. Yet, my cat was screaming for his breakfast at 9am this morning, so i got up and fed the high king and hopped on the site and found two tickets for noon the day i was wanting to go!!! So I got us tickets. I assume the zero tickets availability at 3am was due to the 3rd party people buying them all up??

No, the Coopculture service center people speak English as well as some other languages.
In fact, you'll find that more people in the hospitality industry than not speak passable if not even fluent English.

ALL advance tickets for the Colosseum are "skip the line" unless you stand in line at one of the two on-site ticket offices to buy them. It's a marketing ploy so ignore it. And no one AT ALL skips the security check line.

Any idea how big my tour group will be?

Nope, 'cuz I haven't taken it, just keep a finger on it, but I do know that because of the limited area in the underground that groups cannot be too large. Maybe someone who has taken it will chime in here.

purchase tickets,

True. People who've purchased tours that include the underground from 3rd parties have sometimes had them cancel in the 11th hour. But if interested in not just the Colosseum but the Palatine and Forum as well - those two sites are more complex - a tour which includes all three with a reputable company is recommended, even if it doesn't include the underground. Yes, they are more expensive but they're also longer. You can see down into the underground from places above so so I've personally never thought it worth the pain it takes to try and land THE most in-demand, hardest-to-get ticket of all the attractions in Rome. Just a guess but I've a hunch that 3rd parties are going to have an even more difficult time this year obtaining tickets themselves.

I assume the zero tickets availability at 3am was due to the 3rd party
people buying them all up??

Nope, not necessarily. As I said above, this is THE most in-demand ticket in Rome, and you're competing with many thousands of travelers just like yourselves trying to get hands on them, Yep, many folks stay up half the night, and a fair amount have multiple computers online at the hours they're released to try and do that.

I'm pretty sure you successfully bought the tickets you wanted but let me know?

That is very incredible of them, language wise! Super impressive!

Well, the email tech person replied to me and said we are okay. So if anyone else is asking about this, we should be fine to enter per Stepfano!

I assume this is just like skip the line, like arrive 15 minutes early and we can go in.

You'll find that it's not unusual for many Europeans to be multilingual to some extent, and especially so in the hospitality industry. Good for them! Consider how close the countries are in proximity to each other? As well, English has traditionally been the primary language of international business, and is a mandatory subject in schools in some European countries. It's here in the US where not having a second language is an oddity!

Glad you got your tickets!!! Be SURE and have your passports along for identification, and you will go through a security check, probably on your own and you'll meet your tour inside...but that's a probably. The guards at the entrance will know, or maybe someone here who recently has done it can help. I'd actually be there 20 minutes in advance but I'm risk averse. :O)

I think their system has a bug. I have needed buying twice for two tickets. Both time selected non European. The first purchase they had my name on both tickets, Italian. I emailed them. They responded that correction is not possible but can do refund. So I brought again also selected non European. They got name correct but still say Italian. I am going to accept as is. I think It should be fine as the guide most likely will speak some English.
