HI, I thought I read in Rick Steve's book and also confirmed with a tour guide that Coop Culture releases additional tickets for the underground Colosseum tour at the beginning of each month for the following month. Anyone know what day and what time in September tickets will be released for October?

Just checking on you as I was just on the coopculture site looking up something for another poster and saw that they apparently screwed up the promised underground ticket release date of the 5th and released them early, or some such nonsense. From the website "news" section:

Due to technical problems, tickets with scheduled entrance time for
the Colosseum Arena and the Underground Tour in monthly availability
for the month of October have already been put on sale. We therefore
advise that, on Tuesday 3rd September at 6.30 pm, no further entries
will be issued for monthly availability of the Colosseum Arena and on
Thursday 5th September at 6.30 pm will not be issued other tickets for
monthly availability of the Underground Tour.
What a hairball; don't EVEN get me started with the mess this site has been over the past year.... But all is not completely lost as they've added this:
EXTRAORDINARY OPENING for additional times of the colosseum
underground for october We hereby inform you that, after verifying the
validity of the purchases made for the entire availability of tickets
for the ordinary entrance of the underground of the Coliseum in
October, although not in accordance with the gradual release procedure
established, in agreement with the Direction of the Coliseum
Archaeological Park, on Monday 9 September at 18:30 an exceptional
slot will be offered for sale, available at 17:00 from October 1st to
October 26th.
So assuming you did not get tickets on the 5th - 'cause they weren't selling them - reset your calendar for the 9th at 6:30 PM ROME TIME. Crossing fingers for ya!
