Coop Culture Colosseum Ticket Entrance Gate

I just purchased Full Experience Colosseum through Coop Culture (yesterday), for February 29th. My question is do they have a 'skip the line' entrance? I am worried buying these tickets means I have to get in the massive line I see on all the you tube videos, even though I have a ticket.

It says I need to arrive 15 minutes early to the 'dedicated entrance'. But I am trying to understand if this is a 'skip the line' like entrance? It is not advertised as such like the third party site, so I am curious if I would have been better off with a 3rd party ticket so we don't have to wait in the hideous line.

Grazie!

The long line is for walk-up sales. If you have a ticket with your name on it, you have skipped the line.

They regulate how early you can start the process to enter the Colosseum - they will make you wait if you're too early. There is an initial ticket check where the metal barricades begin, then another check at the security scanners. It is well organized and they will direct you to where you'll meet your docent.

Just get there a bit early to scope out where the ticketed entrance is - find the metal crowd control barricades that are right next to the structure and walk counter-clockwise until you find the first ticket check. There is limited signage.

I really wish they'd rebrand "skip the line" and call it "skip the ticket-buying line" because, really, that's what it is. There is always going to a line, whether it's to get into a site or, in most cases, to go through security. That being said, I've always purchased "skip the line" tickets, since standing in line to buy tickets takes 2-4 times as long as it does to get into a site or attraction.
If I remember correctly from our visit to the Colosseum last October, the entrance you want is the Sperone Valadier Gate.

Cindy, as we discussed in your previous thread, your tickets are timed-entry...meaning you have a specific time you need to be there for your tour. Timed entry tickets ARE "skip the TICKET line", although you will have to go through the security-check process so will need to deal with that queue, even if it's a bit lengthy.Everyone has to do that.

No, you would not have been better off with a 3rd party who may not even have been able to GET tickets for the sort of underground-access tour they advertise. A search of the forums produces a number of threads from frustrated posters who had their 3-party tours cancelled.

You have tickets. Follow the meeting time and place per instructions and relax. :O)
Oh, and to answer your previous question about the size of the group, Coopculture says this:

"Access is provided for groups of up to 25 people every 15 minutes"
