Does anyone know of good cooking school/classes in italy
I did a one day class with chef Lorenzo at Zeppelin Restaurant in Oriveto. It was amazing on every level. There were only 3 of us in the class. We visited the local market in the morning to purchase ingredients, and spent most of the morning and early afternoon preparing gnocchi, boars meat stew, deep fried zucchini flowers and a multitude of other dishes including fresh lemon gelato for desert. Chef speaks perfect English and is very entertaining. His restaurant is a teaching kitchen and there were several American student chefs at the time. Highly recommended. We took home an apron, recipe booklet and memories of a wonderful experience!
I've signed up for one in Cortona in May. Can provide a review afterwards, but there are several with good comments on TripAdvisor.
We had a great day in Rome with Chef Andrea Consoli in his cooking class. www.cookingclassesinrome.com
having done a couple of these myself, here are some resources that I came across when I was picking a cooking course. I haven't tried them all, but I think that the may be a good place to start.

Hi Kathy,
Where in Italy will you be? We are taking Mamma Agata's class in Ravello this year. I have been trying to get into this the last couple of times that we went and finally made it for this September. Can't wait to go because everyone absolutely races about it. http://www.mammaagata.com/
Where exactly are you asking about?
In 2008 we had a good experience in a cooking class held at Villa Pondolfini near Florence. There were maybe 12 in the class, from the US, Canada and Australia. It was a whole day event. It was lots of fun. We paired the cooking class with a wine tasting class. The company is called Good Tastes of Tuscany and gets excellent ratings on Tripadvisor. Just search for it there.
This coming September we are looking at a few options for classes in Palermo which we found on the Best of Sicily site at http://www.bestofsicily.com/mag/art401.htm
I really enjoyed my class in Lucca with Chef Paolo Monti. He offers everything from 1/2 day classes to full week classes. You can google him. He is wonderful.
