My husband & I would like a 4 -6 day cooking school holiday in Italy - preferably Tuscany - and wanted some suggestions and reviews from people who have been to them. We have cycled in Italy twice and love it and want to go back next year. Thanks, Sue
Hey there, I have been to In Tavola in Florence...I wasn't that impressed. It was just a day class but I felt they really didn't add any knowledge or interesting information. A friend of mine did cooking at a school in Greve, Tuscany and absolutely loved it, so I would check that out. Others I have done is In Italy Tours in Calabria (great!), Taste of Italy in Bologna (Very good) Cooking Classes in Rome (The best of all of them!) I have been to Italy a few times and love to learn about cooking in the different regions. I am going again in the fall and this time will be doing cooking in Tuscany at a B&B-(Il Vicario) Piemonte (Travel Langhe) Lecce Puglia (Stile Mediterraneo) Sorrento (Villa Adriana)
Hope this helps and you have a great time!
Thanks for your reply, Lisa - let us know how your trip goes in the fall - we aren't going until 2012 so we will be very interested in your comments!

I'm going to suggest Judy Wilts at Divina Cucina http://www.divinacucina.com/ She is in Colle Val d'Elsa just south of Florence and has both single day and week long classes. she might be able tyo tailoer something for you inbetween those lengths.
I'll be taking the cooking class at B&B Il Vicario in 2 weeks, so I'll let you both know how it was!!!
Thanks to all for your replies - this is such a great way to get information about the little details that make a trip so much better!
Hi Susan, I haven't checked recently, but Umberto Menghi (of local Vancouver/Whistler restaurant fame) had a cooking school in Tuscany called Villa Lidia (sp.) with visits to markets, wine tasting etc. Accommodation in his villa optional. Would be worth checking into.
Ciao, Sherry
This is something I have been looking into as well but haven't found feedback from anyone who has been on a course. In my researches I have found some websites that cover Italian cookery courses - listed below in case they help www.taste-italia.com www.tastingplaces.com www.italiangourmet.com www.cookitaly.com

We took a cooking class in Tuscany (Lucca) last month. It was the best time of our trip. Chef Paolo Monti has one day to 1 week classes. You can google him. His class offerings will appear. I took the basic sauces class. It was fabulous!
