Cooking Classes in Rome and Day Trips from Rome

We are taking a family trip with our 3 kids. Have been throughout Europe but never to Italy. We are in our mid 60's and our kids are in their late 20's and going to Rome and Greece. We are spending 3 full days in Rome and would like to do a local cooking class while we are there. Staying in an Air B&B near the Vatican. We are also interested in taking a day trip or two after our 3 days in Rome and before we head to Greece. We are looking for trips that take us to more of the local flavor towns that are not so packed with tourists. Any suggestions on a good pasta or other cooking class and day trips is greatly appreciated.

Conviviorome.com does cooking classes in a small hill town a short train ride away from Rome in the Sabine hills, and they will meet you at the local station. Their full day class includes a walk through their medieval town. Sally is Australian and her husband Guido is the Roman chef, and both are fluent in English. It's a really enjoyable day and you will learn to make a typical Roman meal.

We have taken Chef Andrea Consoli’s cooking class twice…most recently this past November. He is so welcoming and informative…it is always so much fun and the meal we prepare is so delicious! He has a lovely location in the heart of Trastevere.

I can highly recommend the "Pasta with Nonna" cooking class that you can find by googling or on AirBNB experiences. It is by far the best "tour" we've done in Italy.
