Cooking Classes in Italy

I know that there are lots of tremendous options for cooking schools (vacations) in Italy, but am looking for your suggestions.
My wife and I are pretty good cooks (she much better than me), but are interested in a week long cooking vacation in Italy. (with wine of course). We have been to Italy several times, but are open to any areas..

Any suggestions are much appreciated.

Hi Jonathan ,

I recently took a 1-day cooking class with Awaiting Tables in Lecce, in the Puglia region. I know they also offer 1-week classes. Their classes concentrate on the local food which is mostly fish & vegetables.

I haven’t taken these classes, but I know there’s some week-long classes in the Abruzzo region that looked very interesting, especially if you’ve already been in other Italian regions. This is a few of them: https://www.abruzzocibus.com/food-tours/abruzzo-cooking/

Each time I am in Italy, I have taken 1-2 cooking classes and enjoyed all of them. Each region has their own pasta specialty and local foods, so you might want to consider what’s something you would like to make back home. My husband was always excited when I was taking a new cooking class because he would be benefiting when I returned home and made the dishes for him! : )

I’m taking this class with Let’s Eat the World in Parma this October. I believe they are no longer taking reservations for the October class, but they have classes scheduled for 2025.

I took their week-long class in Uzes, France last year and really enjoyed it; it was a great vacation. The Parma course is new this year. I can report back on how the class went later this year if you ask in November.

For classes in the Lazio province, check out Convivio Rome. Sally and Guido are a wonderful couple who provide half-day to five-day classes involving olive oil and wine tours as well as traditional Roman food.

We have been looking at CASTELLO DI MONTALERO for an 8 day cookery class, in addition to those you have suggested. Comments?
