Heard about a restaurant in Bellagio offering cooking classes. Restaurant ll Caminetto. Tried to find them on line in Bellagio and found a more current listing in Varenna. Better still. We will be staying in Varenna, but when we tried to find them there we found a listing but no website so we still don't know how to reach them to sign up. Does anyone know about this place or anyplace offering cooking classes in the Lake Como area, near train and/or Ferry?

Ristorante il Caminetto is in a small village about 10 minutes north of Varenna. Here is their website:

They will come down to Varenna to pick you up and drop off. We did the class this past May and really enjoyed it. Chef Moreno is very personable and entertaining and there's plenty of food (and wine) during the day.
They are a restaurant, and run the classes most weekdays, but not all, so it's good to email them with your available dates and they can let you know their availability.

We also did the class in 2011. It was great! The only suggestion I might add is that you also make reservations for dinner at the restaurant. We had such a great time that we wanted to return for dinner. Sadly, they were totally booked and we were unable to get reservations.
