Cooking Class in Rome

My brother is coming to visit and we are going to spend a few days in Rome. He loves to cook and would really enjoy a cooking class. Does anyone have any recommendations for a class in Rome?

Thanks,
Jennifer

A google search will turn up a few, most run a half day or more, some start with a market tour or shopping, head someplace to prep and cook, then sit down and eat what you cooked.

My wife went here: http://www.cookingclassesinrome.com/ (the website looks to have a glitch or two for me, but all the info is there) She really enjoyed Chef Consoli, he has lived and worked in the US so language not an issue, and well recommended on Tripadvisor.

My wife appreciated that though he needs a group, he was able to book her in with others (she also provided several days that would work for her) and he was able to meet her dietary needs (She is vegetarian, but does consume Dairy, eggs, and fish). As I recall, they made pasta, stuffed some squash blossoms, and several other preps. She found it well worthwhile.

The one recommended is great. I had a class with him and really enjoyed it. Tried to book another one this summer but he was booked already so I am trying a different place. Will post again after the class.

Another recommendation for Chef Andeas! There were about a dozen of us and we had a great time. Chef Andreas was very accommodating for my vegetarian daughter. I had hoped there would be one or two things that she could eat, and he added several dishes so she would have a complete dinner.

We also did that class and Chef Andrea (not Andeas or Andreas) is a kick. He is very opinionated about Italian food. Do be sure to tell them in advance if you have any restrictions such as being a vegetarian. Here are some photos I took of the class: http://flic.kr/s/aHsjy5bEH8

They may have moved into a larger kitchen by now, but somehow we made the tiny space work.

Be sure to look at another thread on this forum, just initiated yesterday I think, called "visit to Rome". It describes what sounds like a terrific cooking school experience, just outside Rome, "Convivio Rome".
