Cooking class in Matera or Sorrento

We'll be visiting Southern Italy in April and are looking for recommendations for a participative cooking class in either Matera or Sorrento during. I've found a few, but am hoping for recommendations for classes where we actually cook something instead of watch. I'll be travelling with my daughter. We're both experienced cooks but enjoy learning more about local foods and recipes. Any suggestions?

Matera’s dish is a giant lump of hot bread. I think you’ll find cooking classes in Bari and maybe a few in Lecce. Bari is famous for their pasta shops. I also know a guide in Polignano a Mare who has access to cooking classes.

I have never seen cooking classes in Sorrento. They don’t seem to have a unique culinary tradition. Naples probably has some.,

This is a question for google, and you will find plenty. Sorry, no personal experience. There are some great food shops in Matera and they may have recommendations. I would ask your accommodations also.
Hot lump of bread is not how I would describe it. Vegetable heavy and hearty comes to mind, with heritage varieties of chilies. Unfortunately the Murgiana park headquarters is closed for restoration because they have wonderful food that speaks to the area--bean soup and rusk bread salads. I made it a point to go back for lunch on my second visit.

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I've checked in with our hotel and received a few recommendations in both Matera and Sorrento. A few are at family farms.

My husband and I are signed up for a cooking class in Sorrento at the end of April. It is hosted by a restaurant called La Limonaia.

We were recommended this by a friend of ours who has dined there and taken the class. We booked directly through their website
