cooking class in Florence or Tuscany?

Hello, looking for recommendations for where to do a small group cooking class either in Florence or Tuscany region. There seem to be many places that offer this--anyone had a great experience with a particular company? Thanks!

If you do a search (see Search box at top of page), there are several posts over the past few years asking the same question. You may find people's responses to those earlier posts helpful.

If you are close to Lucca, I have a great recommendation for a cooking school. Just pm me and I will give you the information.

I have not experienced florencetown.com but have seen it noted on this site. Give them a try.

I went on an Eating Italy food tour in Rome and loved it! They seem to have food tours and cooking classes in Florence as well. We went in January and I think I remember seeing a discount code in Rick's Italy or Rome guide book. If you have the book, look in the Index for Eating Italy.

I have used www.cookeatitalian.com twice on two different trips. I had such a good time the first time that when I went back I knew I wanted to go again. She is in Florence (where I went) but she also does classes somewhere outside of the city too. Totally different menus each time. The classes are held in Manuela's kitchen. She is delightful and a very good home chef. She is Italian and her husband is British.

My husband and I enjoyed this day long cooking experience. It isn't an intense cooking lesson but you get a walking/shopping tour in Florence , a short trip to a beautiful house in the hills above Florence and then a very entertaining class where you make your own pasta, ragu, pork roast, pizza and dessert. There is plenty of wine and beer and a great sit down meal in a room overlooking Florence, The reviews are very legitimate. It is a great day.
