Hello my family will be in Sicily this summer at the end of June, we’re looking for a cooking class. The ones I’m seeing would be very expensive for a family of 5 to do. Looking for some suggestions. Thought maybe a rented home might come with this option? Thanks

sicily is big, what part of sicily will you been in? so many different sites to check out but need more info. activites like cooking classes are about $100 a person depending on where and when you plan it. summer is high season with higher prices.
what are the ages of your gang and will all be interested and keep their mind to it all.
do more info about renting home and what is offered with hosts. will you have transportation ( car, bus, train?)
if you plan on renting a car make sure you get an IDP (AAA.com/IDP) for about $25, 2 passport size photos, receive same day for each driver. read the laws and rules of italian signs for the roads for driving. good luck

Thanks for the reply.
We’ll be spending around a week in Sicily. We plan to visit Palermo, Cefalu, area around Etna, Siracusa and probably a town on the southwest side too.
Kids are 11-18 years and all of them like cooking.
We’re planning on renting a car.
I was seeing around $100/person, but was hopeful someone knew of a host with a family discount.
Noticd the Airbnb site lists several cooking clases in Sicily under Experiences.

just a few options for you to research and see if something interests you & family. i have saved these in my bookmarks from other trips to different cities we traveled, just change the cities.some are third party resellers which some have issues about them but we never had any problems, to each their own.
with your stay of only a week and visiting 4 cities, less than 2 days each is not enough time, plus your transportation time, check in is 2-4pm check out is 10-11am with 5 people to shower/breakfast/pack up and leave. plus leaving luggage in car when at next stop for safety reasons. if staying in an apartment, ask for early check in if possibe and if the owner/host offers a cooking class or stop at a tourist kiosk in middle city center plaza and see if something offered

look at farm places for your family to stay in with some offering cooking classes, pools, A/C, and other activities.

look up sicily and see if anything interests you and family.
with your family of five there is a cost with many wanting "budget". cooking classes/food tours have become very popular with cost of everything going up up up, vendors/people trying to make money back with supply and demand. best thing to tell you, like i did, was make a savings account from now till when i traveled, deposited each payday (weekly/bi-weekly/monthly) and have it all ready when i traveled.
