Convents in Rome and Florence?

Does anyone have a specific convent in Rome to recommend, as well as contact information? We want to stay in the 35-50 dollar range. Two people. Are there convents in Florence? If not, can anyone recommend a hotel in Florence, keeping within the 90-100 dollar range? Mid October this year.

Thanks!

In Florence, we stayed at Istituto Gould, which is listed in Rick's guide.(www. istitutogould.it) While not a convent, it is a similar Protestant run home that operates to fund programs for disadvantaged children. We had a fairly large room with bath in a nice area for about 58 EUR a night, a great price for expensive Florence. My husband and daughters all liked the place and we would stay here again.
