Does anyone have recommendations for a convent in Venice? I'd like to stay near the Accademia or San Marco, or close to a vaporetto stop on the Grand Canal. I'd prefer to book myself, rather than going through something like MonasteryStays, to minimize cost since I'll be staying a week or more. Thanks.

Some of the venice convents are getting costly you might try Foresteria della Chiesa Valdese (Methodist Church) dorms and doubles. halfway betw St Marks and Rialto Bridge. also recom by RS.

We have stayed at Domus Ciliota-wonderful convent. Ciliota.it
It is more upgraded now (AC) etc. and is between two vaporetto stops.
