Convent lodging in Italy

Hi,

Does anyone know of convents or monastery lodging in the following cities: Milan, Monterosso, Genoa, La Spezia, Varenna, Verona and Venice? We enjoyed staying in convents in Cortona and Florence, and were hoping to do the same in the above cities. Any advice is much appreciated.

Thanks,
Bob

I use www.monasterystays.com as a back-up to www.santasausanna.org--usually cheaper. click on Coming to Rome and scroll down to too many choices across Italy. This March am staying at a convent outside of Assisi for 60 Euros for a double and in Rome for 95--both with bath and breakfast. Once you make your choices, go to Tripadvisor to see if there ratings. Enjoy!

I haven't been to Italy yet...but I'm booking several monastery stays at monasterystays.com. There are several in Monterosso...lots in Venice and several in LaSpezia.

Good luck

You can always check out the book "Lodging in Italy's Monasteries" by Eileen Barish and see if any are listed in the cities you mentioned. It does provide some excellent suggestions. I think a new edition is supposed to come out this year..
