Contacting the Vatican - Attending a ceremony

My family and I are hoping to be able to attend The Blessing of the Oils, on the Thursday prior to next Easter. I've gone over the Vatican's website and, it seems, like this is the correct link: http://www.vatican.va/various/prefettura/index_en.html However, we've tried mailing the request and it's been returned twice - for an incorrect address. We tried this from 2 different post offices. Then, we've tried faxing. We've tried all different times of day and with 4 or 5 different services - it always comes back busy or no answer.

Anybody have any ideas? Thanks.

Who returned the letter? The US Postal Service, or the Vatican? I tried entering the provided Vatican address into the online form at USPS.com and it didn't like it claiming there was not enough information to make a valid address even though the website claims the address fields adjust to what is common in the receiving country.

When you mailed the letter, did you hand it to a person at the post office so they could properly label it and place it into the international bag?

Make sure you are using the correct postage. The domestic Forever stamps don't work for international mail, even if you put enough on the envelope to equal the minimum $1.20 postage needed. The Post Office sells special international stamps that should be used.

Another thing to consider is that next year is the Vatican Jubilee and many events are already booked solid and sold out which may explain the inability for the fax to go through.
