After reviewing comments (and raves) on the graffiti wall, I've decided to try to stay for a couple of nights at Corte Campana in Venice, with no luck. I've tried the online reservation form on their website, but I always get a message that the email has bounced back to me. I tried emailing directly with the address listed on the site and have been waiting 2 weeks with no response. Has anyone had a similar problem? Or should faxing be my next attempt? Thanks.
On most places in Italy, I usually use this approach. I'll email first, if no response then I'll fax. If still nothing and I still am interested I'll call keeping in mind the time difference and the possibility that the person who answers will have less English than my Italian.
I also do inquiries in English and Italian, using a free web based transaltion service for the Italian.
Make sure on all methods you include maybe email address, fax# and voice #.
Some smaller places in just don't pay regualr attention to email.
Kristine, Riccardo told us in October that he always goes away for a vacation during January. You might try to contact him again in February. He speaks perfect English, so translation is not an issue. This is a great place to stay, quite near St. Mark's Square. Riccardo goes out of his way to make your stay perfect, including walking you to his favorite "first-night" restaurant, giving you recommendations for espresso, dinners, museums, etc. He's a great guy and the rooms are large, quiet and comfortable. We will always stay with Riccardo when in Venice.
Feel free to contact me for more info.

Thank you so much, Ron and Debra. Your responses were very helpful!
Hi Kristine,
We just booked a room with Riccardo 2 weeeks ago and we responded very quickly (the day after we submitted the form he contacted us immediately the next day). I'm guessing he must be on vacation because he was very speedy.
Just in case though, thought I would send you the contact info I was using:
