Consumer complaints

Is there any place where I can repot and file complaints regarding the B&B in Rome? For consumer protection?

I booked and paid for 7 nights but left the property after two nights because the owner was making a lot of troubles for me for making a lot of noise… which I don’t know how to handle because I never had this kind of trouble in my life.(I mean making noise…)

I am a Japanese national and I don’t think I make a lot of noise since in Japan we are very sensitive to this kind of thing and usually very quiet people especially when comes to staying in a space where we share with other such as B&B or hotel or that kind of sort.

If it was only a complaints about noise then I can compromise but she was threatening me that she will call police. Everything is recorded on video and so on.

I personally don’t have problem even if she does report because I am aware of my behavior, but after I left I asked her for a receipt and she said she sent it to a third party with her complaints and told me that appropriate party will deal with it. Meaning I never got receipt.

As far as I know, there is no third party either. Also I booked it via Agoda (and I report it to them as well ) but Agoda didn’t receive the receipt either. Also she is not responding to Agoda for any conversation.

What’s really disturbing me is… In the end she claimed that a blanket is missing from the room and she need it to be returned, but… honestly that is ridiculous as the blanket is not an expensive or a fancy one that it doesn’t worth to steal.

She called me a liar and not respecting others and many others witnessed my behaviors and what I did was not acceptable…. Well she said a lot of things.

FYI I never saw other guest while I stayed there.

Anyway, this is my assumption but it is very possible that I got on her nerves for responding to her reactions very calmly rather than reaction. And she just got even more upset about that, because I didn’t buy her story.

Also I know she lied a lot here and there about her complaints about me because when I told her my truth with proof ( I do have proof such as recording the voice and video because I smelled the trouble since the minutes I arrived) she just shot at me that I am not respecting nobody and is a nightmare to have me another 5 nights.

Anyway…. Too much info I can give but my point is… Is there any place I can report or claim about it and hopefully to get refund for the 5 nights?

Since you booked through Agoda, they are the ones to contact for help. They must have a record of your booking and payment. Their Customer Service page has a section for refunds:

You could also write a review of the B&B on TripAdvisor to warn others that the owner is difficult and makes false accusations.

It would be nice if that long-winded rambling report contained some actual specifics of the issues rather than generalizations. Especially important if he wants to write a Trip Advisor report. That penultimate paragraph makes it sounds like he was asked to leave rather than chose to leave.

I agree they need to be more definite in filing a complaint or a review. Instead of affirmatively declaring they were not noisy, they state that they are Japanese snd Japanese are not noisy. While I might agree with that in general (I can say that because I am half Japanese myself), that is not proof that they personally were not noisy.

And for the missing blanket, instead of stating that they did not take it, they just say it was not fancy and not worth stealing. Again, that does not constitute proof that they did not take it. Not that I think they did, but in filing a complaint they must declare that they did not take it.

I hope they go back to Agoda with their complaint and get some resolution. I do not know if there is any kind of “consumer protection” agency in Rome to help them with this.

Tell us specifically about the noise complaint. Although even if you do we can’t help anyway.
