connections

I am planning a September trip to Italy, flying into and departing from Milan Linate. It doesn't look far to get to Milan Centrale from Linate. Does anyone know approx. cab fare and travel time? ( I know there allot of variables but please give me at least an estimate). I know there is no train service from Linate. There may be buses to the train station but I haven't been able to find any online.

Also, what is a reasonable amount of time between an inbound flight from the states and a connecting flight through Heathrow? It will all be British airways so I have a number on options on the Heathrow to Linate leg.

I've been happy with the Starfly and ATM private "coach" companies that take half an hour, cost €5 per person, and run to the east side of Milano Centrale at Piazza Luigi di Savoia.
