Connection Flight Questions?!

Hi All-

I will be flying from JFK to FCO to NAP. The airline is ITA airways.. I am a little nervous because this will be my first flight and I have a few questions . When I land at FCO, will I have to go thru customs or immigration or anything like that ? Or would I only have to go thru that at my final destination in NAP? Is 1hr 35 min enough time for the connection? And also - when I check in at JFK, would both of the places ( Fco and Nap) be on one plane ticket? Thanks !!

Passport control (immigration) at FCO. Customs at NAP, however you just walk through the green line (Nothing to declare), unless you have goods to declare. Your checked luggage will go directly from JFK to NAP, therefore you will not need to retrieve it at the first port of entry (FCO).
1h35 min is enough if the arrival flight is timely. In the worst case scenario (major delay) ITA will place you in the next flight to NAP. Unfortunately there are only 4 ITA Airways flights a day from FCO to NAP so you might have to wait several hours. That is why many people simply buy the ticket to FCO, and then go from the FCO airport station to Naples by train, since there is a train every 30 minutes (change at Roma Termini, Rome’s main station) and the overall trip by train is about 2 hours (30 min from FCO to Roma Termini station then 70 min from Roma Termini to Napoli Centrale.
The boarding pass you will get at JFK when you check in should be for both flights, or maybe they will give you two separate boarding passes for the two legs, but that depends on the airline.
